Godfrey was born on 15th June 1965 in Chishawasha Mission in Harare. In 1972 he went to Mrewa where he did his Primary and Secondary education. In 1983 he completed his School education.In 1997 he was in Harare looking for a job. He also helped his brother, Wancelous who was a Professional Artist. He learnt a lot and his brother told him he had a natural talent and encouraged him to try doing his own work.

He was delighted when his work was bought by buyers from America and Europe and he decided to continue full time.Godfrey has a simple but very appealing style. His sculptures are not difficult to understand and the abstraction is not overpowering. Godfrey is an exciting talent and his style adds a new dimension to Stone Dynamics Gallery.
